"Where once the poor were commonly seen as passive victims, microfinance recognizes that poor people are remarkable reservoirs of energy and knowledge. And while the lack of financial services is a sign of poverty, today it is also understood as an untapped opportunity to create markets, bring people in from the margins and give them the tools with which to help themselves."
The key to ending extreme poverty is to enable the poorest of the poor to get their foot on the ladder of development. The ladder of development hovers overhead, and the poorest of the poor are stuck beneath it. They lack the minimum amount of capital necessary to get a foothold, and therefore need a boost up to the first rung. "

Hello Webteam,
kudos to the team efforts by the BISWA IT Team maintaining this site succesfully for so long. As it is viewed by ppl from across the world u ppl r keeping it upto date very nicely..good effort. But as being a web developer myself i can definitely suggest some improvements to the overall visiting experience the portal. There are many pages..cases..spaces..areas where ppl can improve it for better viewing and accessibility.in terms of contents also.gimme some time to suggest my ideas in orderly manner. But to start with u can make the annual report file size to affordable download size so that ppl with lower download ability and bandwith can view or download it.Either optimize the pdf compression balancing the quality and filesize.Get the raw corel file who ever published it and get it exported to pdf with optimized compression..

Like wise would like to comment on the outstanding work done by Mr. Debarata Malick. With his knowledge I am sure he can get a very high pay scale and well deserve job in any developed country. But doing something for your own country from Sambalpur is definitely to be marked as 10 on 10

"I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.”

Dear Dev Bhai,
Every individual is at once the beneficiary and the victim of the linguistic tradition into which he has been born - the beneficiary inasmuch as language gives access to the accumulated records of other people's experience, the victim in so far as it confirms him in the belief that reduced awareness is the only awareness and as it bedevils his sense of reality, so that he is all too apt to take his concepts for data, his words for actual things.
Well done Mate !!

Its great to see such a national level organisation operating from our state.'Biswa' is undoubtably an extremely commendable effort towards achieving an equitable society. Good luck to the entire 'Biswa' fraternity for all the good work they are doing. The support of all like minded people goes with you!
