Previous Income: Nil Present Income: Rs. 16, 66.00 per month Kuma Hantal is a 45 years old woman of Kandguda village, Gumma block district of Malkangiri, Orissa. She is staying to with her husband and three children. People in the area used to face serious problem of food insecurity. She is now a credible partner of her village development and most of the village people have a great appreciation for her initiative in her ensuring a sustainable livelihood option for her family. Now she is very happy of being a SHG member of BISWA. Before Joining SHG she was a house wife. With the intervention of BISWA she got idea about BISWA micro finance loan. With the support of BISWA and She became a member of Maa Thakurani SHG, hence she took the loan of Rs. 10,000/- micro finance loan from BISWA. She decided that amount will be invested in her agriculture Field. BISWA provided her training on vermin composting and guidance about agriculture. And she purchased Groundnut, chemical fertilizer, and also started vegetable cultivation, like as Tomato, Chilly, Potato, quail flower, cabbage etc. Her nearest market is Gumma. She sold her vegetables in that market. Her family members get sufficient direct nutrition. This Year She has earned Rs.20, 000/- from Groundnut and vegetable cultivation. Now her living condition is good. She is able to produce more vegetable from her own land. She is treated as an efficient farmer in the village. |
