Seminar on Cultural Heritage PDF Print E-mail
The Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Odisha Chapter in collaboration with the Seminar Committee on Cultural Heritage of Sambalpur organised a seminar on Cultural Heritage of Sambalpur region at Panthaniwas on 28.11.2009. It was inaugurated by Sri Devi Prasad Mishra, Minister for Higher Education, Culture & Tourism, Government of Odisha.  Speaking to the occasion, he shed light on rich cultural heritage of Sambalpur region and elaborated the tourism potentiality of these places. Sri Amiya Bhushan Tripathy, former Director General of Police, Odisha, presided over the inaugural session as the State Convenor of INTACH. He expressed his pleasure on participating such an occasion, where the real potentiality of cultural heritage of the region is being explored. Sri Bibhuti Bhushan Mishra welcomed the guests and participants at the outset as the Convenor of Seminar Committee on Cultural Heritage of Sambalpur. Many scholars and intellectuals of the region participated in the seminar and read their prepared papers of their choice. Sri Shiv Prasad Mehjer, Manager Public Relations, BISWA, cited his write up on "Sanskuti O Aitihya Ra Pratika Sambalpuri Bastra (Sambalpur Textile as the symbol of culture and heritage)", which was largely appreciated there.
